Why do I need coverage?
Your automobile is a large investment and is used on a daily basis. Protection Direct’s Coverage will ensure that your vehicle is always in the best mechanical condition and can help you avoid expensive repair bills.
How are auto extended warranty claims paid?
With Coverage, you may use the authorized repair facility of your choice (local mechanic, dealership, national chain) and your covered claims are paid quickly over the phone. Simply allow the repair facility to contact the claims administrator and covered repairs are paid directly. You pay your deductible (if applicable).
How do my Extended Benefits work?
If you need Towing or Roadside Assistance, please contact the Roadside Assistance phone number on your contract. Your extedended benefits like 24hr Roadside Assistance, Towing, and Rental Car are available when you are in a time of need. Some of these benefits may be paid on a reimbursement basis.
Can I make payments online?

How does the auto claim process work?

By purchasing Coverage through Protection Direct, you can reduce your unexpected out of pocket expense on automobile repairs.

After you purchase an Extended Vehicle Protection Plan, you must continue to maintain your vehicle in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.

When you experience a mechanical breakdown, you call our toll free number provided for claims support.

How do I check the status of my claim?
You can contact claims directly by calling our customer service team (800) 986-3608.
Is my service contract transferable?
Most of our contracts are transferable if you sell your vehicle to another person. Contact one of our agents to discuss the specific terms of your contract at 1-800-964-5096.
How does the deductible work?
Once the repair is completed, you pay your deductible directly to the repair facility.
I use my vehicle for commercial purposes. Can you still provide coverage?
Yes! Protection Direct offers plans for commercial vehicles. A surcharge may be applied
Where can I take my vehicle for repairs?
You can take your vehicle to any licensed repair facility in your area. You may take it in for repairs at any licensed repair facility, such as your original dealer, your favorite repair shop, or any national chain that performs vehicle repairs such as Pep Boys, AAMCO, Tire Kingdom, and MIDAS.

Is my car covered?

Coverage  from Protection Direct covers most vehicles up to 20 model years and up to 500,000 miles. It’s easy to find the right extended auto warranty plan for your make, model and budget. Our trained staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They’ll make sure you find just what you need.

Can I get coverage if I use my vehicle for Lyft / Uber?
Yes, we provide coverage for vehicles that are used for Lyft/Uber/Rideshare. A small surcharge may apply. Please call 1-800-964-5096 and talk to one of our agents for more information.
When does Coverage take effect?
Your Effective Date starts on the day you Activate Coverage, you are eligible for repairs 30 days after your Effective Date. Your policy booklet will provide additional details regarding this information.
What kind of replacement parts will you put on my vehicle?
All covered repairs will be made with parts of like kind and quality. Please view your contract for details.
If I file a claim, will my monthly rate increase?
No! No matter how many claims you file, your rate will never increase!
What if I need a rental vehicle while mine is being repaired?
Please review your contract for total rental allowance. Rental coverage may be obtained through your local rental car agency or dealer. Rental car benefits may be paid directly by claims or subject to reimbursement.
How is Protection Direct’s warranty program different from my auto insurance?
Typically, auto insurance covers only accidental damage or collision to your vehicle—such as a car crash, fire, or vandalism. A Protection Direct service contract covers the mechanical parts of your vehicle. Most auto insurance policies do not cover mechanical breakdowns, unless they are the direct result of an auto accident.
